Screening
Just about all ASPs use some means to screen and verify their clients. Some rely on running their clients through an online database, police checks, or credit card. Some just chat a few minutes on the phone to get a feel for the person.
My main screening requirement these days is a REFERENCE FROM AN ESTABLISHED ASP (i.e. no Craigslist providers). I need to be able to confirm your status as a good client before I will make an appointment with you.
Requirements for ALL my clients:
I do not answer calls from blocked numbers. You can leave a message with a number where I can call you back, or dial *82 before you dial my number
I will not discuss rates or services by phone, email, or chat - all that information is readily available on this site. If I get the impression that you're asking leading questions, I'll terminate communication with you after the first warning (and hopefully, there won't be a need for a first warning).
I would like my new clients to read my Terms and Rates, just to make sure there are no misunderstandings
I MUST speak with you by phone at some point in the appointment making process - it cannot be done exclusively by email or IM
Discretion and confidentiality are major concerns for me, as I'm sure they are for you, so I will never call your home number without your permission or identify myself or the nature of our relationship to anyone.
I would like to have at least a cell phone number (in case I need to contact you for any reason prior to the session, if I'm running late, lost, have car trouble, etc.
I don't go to cheap motels or questionable neighborhoods
You have seen, within the last 6 months, at least one local ASP or an ASP in another area whose identity is verifiable (web site, reviews, etc.)
She is able to verify your status as a good client (preferably by you arranging for HER to call or email ME with the verification)
Please have her phone number or email readily available if you can't have her call me, in order to expedite the process (I may not have immediate computer access when you call me)
You're listed on some sort of reputable, verifiable client database where I can get access to verify you (i.e. Preferred 411 or Date Check) - please note, you MUST have references, not just a new account
It's SOOOOOOOO much easier and quicker to to use an online screening service. My first choice is Preferred411, and my second choice is Date Check. I'll even knock $20 off your first visit to help offset the cost.
